7 Moons 2016 Red Blend

7 Moons, a red blend that references the seven phases of the moon by combining seven grape varietals sourced from vineyards up and down California’s Central Coast and Lodi regions, will debut its new 2016 vintage this month.

The 7 Moons 2016 blend marries red varietals syrah, merlot, petite sirah, zinfandel, cabernet sauvignon, malbec and grenache. It exhibits aromas of chocolate-covered cherries, baking spices and vanilla bean, the company reports, with flavors of strawberry preserves, cherry cola and milk chocolate, before a fruit-forward finish.

The 2016 vintage is 13.5% ABV. Food pairing recommendations range from barbecued chicken and caprese salad to Chinese take-out.
