West region tractor dealers buck parts sales decline trend in March
Exclusive data for Outdoor Power Equipment magazine readers from Constellation Data Solutions, a division of Constellation Dealership Group, shows Same Store Sales results at U.S. tractor dealerships for the month of March. The composite data is pulled from dealerships that use Constellation’s Ideal and c-Systems DMS products. The Same Store Sales data compares March 2020 vs. March 2019 at 417 independent servicing tractor dealerships.
In the U.S., revenue at Constellation DMS dealerships saw an average overall decline in parts sales of 17 percent during March and on the onset of the coronavirus vs. March 2019. However, dealers in the West region exited March with 37 percent sales growth in the parts department.
Parts revenue performance on average by region during March 2020 are as follows:
West: 37 percent increase
Midwest: 8 percent decrease
Northeast: 39 percent decrease
South: 14 percent decrease
USA: 17 percent decrease
Here’s a breakdown by region by percentage of dealerships and their parts sales performance:
West: 55 percent down; 45 percent up
Midwest: 51 percent down; 49 percent up
Northeast: 50 percent down; 50 percent up
South: 52 percent down; 48 percent up
USA: 52 percent down; 48 percent up
