U.S. wine and spirits importer Palm Bay International has announced the addition of Beni di Batasiolo to the company’s portfolio.
Based in Piedmont’s Langhe district, Batasiolo was established in 1978 by the Dogliani family. Today it is the region’s largest family-run producer, the company says. Batasiolo encompasses more than 320 acres across nine beni (estates), including five cru Barolo sites.
Batasiolo’s portfolio comprises a range of wines that offer the full scope of styles from the Langhe. Barolo DOCG and Barbaresco DOCG represent the winery’s traditional expressions, while Moscato d’Asti DOCG Bosc DLA REI, Barbera d’Alba DOC, Dolcetto d’Alba DOC and Gavi DOC offer an approachable introduction to the region. Barbera d’Alba DOC Sovrana, Gavi del Comune di Gavi Granée DOCG and Langhe DOC Nebbiolo encourage deeper explorations of its terroirs.
Batasiolo’s icon wines will also join the portfolio, highlighting the winery’s five cru Barolo sites: Cerequio and Brunate within the La Morra commune, Briccolina and Boscareto within the Serralunga d’Alba commune, and Bussia Bofani within the Monforte d’Alba commune, as well as, the winery’s Barolo Riserva.
Palm Bay International will begin operating as the sole import agent for Batasiolo’s portfolio in the U.S. as of January 1, 2020. The wines were previously imported by Total Beverage Solutions.
All Batasiolo wines will be available nationwide with the following suggested retail prices per 750ml bottle: Moscato d’Asti DOCG Bosc DLA REI ($15.99), Barbera d’Alba DOC ($16.99), Dolcetto d’Alba DOC ($16.99), Gavi DOC ($16.99), Barbera d’Alba DOC Sovrana ($21.99), Gavi del Comune di Gavi Granée DOCG ($21.99), Langhe DOC Nebbiolo ($24.99), Barbaresco DOCG ($39.99), Barolo DOCG ($41.99), Barolo DOCG Riserva ($79.99), Barolo DOCG Boscareto ($99.99), Barolo DOCG Bussia Vigneto Bofani ($99.99), Barolo DOCG Brunate ($99.99), Barolo DOCG Cerequio ($99.99), and Barolo DOCG Briccolina ($114.99).
