July service department sales rise 19% on average
U.S. OPE dealerships on average saw impressive gains in their service department revenue during July, according to exclusive data for OPE Business magazine readers from Constellation Data Solutions, a division of Constellation Dealership Group. The latest data shows Same Store Sales results at U.S. outdoor power equipment dealerships for July 2020.
The composite data is pulled from dealerships that use Constellation’s Ideal and c-Systems DMS products. The Same Store Sales data compares July 2020 vs. July 2019 service department revenue at 1,188 independent servicing OPE dealerships.
In the U.S., OPE dealership service department revenues at Constellation DMS dealerships experienced an average increase of 19% during July.
Dealers in the Northeast region experienced an average 24% increase in service department revenue to lead the nation in July vs. July 2019, while the South had a 22% increase. Dealers in the Midwest saw a 13% service department revenue increase during July on average, while dealers in the West saw average service department revenue gains of 8%.
Canadian dealers had an average service department revenue decrease of 19% during July vs. July 2019.
The percentage breakdown by dealerships that were up vs. down in wholegoods sales for July is as follows:

Midwest: 47% up; 53% down
Northeast: 43% up; 57% down
South: 57% up; 43% down
USA: 51% up; 49% down
