Volcon Announces Expansion Plans and New Hires, Signs New Dealers

Volcon, the all-electric, off-road powersports company, has announced the expansion of its footprint in North Austin, Texas. What started as a single engineering building in early 2021 has quickly become a three-building campus as the company awaits breaking ground on its long term, state-of-the-art facility in Liberty Hill, Texas.

As Volcon’s business transitions into a dealer-driven model, the company reports, planned expansion into the Liberty Hill location will be necessary to accommodate the influx of demand for the Volcon Stag, the company’s planned all-electric side-by-side and for future models to follow.

The company’s Liberty Hill factory location will be situated on 70 acres in Northwest Austin, consisting of a vast trail network through a dense mix of cedar and oak trees that will soon become the company’s proving grounds. Along with a dry creek bed and running river, the property will serve as the perfect location to test and refine Volcon’s two and four-wheeled vehicles, while rapidly incorporating production feedback.

The current campus layout includes:

  • Building 1: Production, assembly and service
  • Building 2: Marketing, sales and engineering
  • Building 3: Warehousing and accounting
  • Building 4: Liberty Hill (future expansion)

“It has been incredible to witness the growth of this company over the last few months, both in head count, factory footprint and dealership growth, says Jordan Davis, Volcon’s CEO. “What was once a small team in a single production facility has blossomed into a multi-building campus here in Austin with over 50 employees. Our current layout should serve our needs nicely until we can celebrate the grand opening of our future manufacturing facility in Liberty Hill.”

Volcon also has announced new hires: Dave Auringer has been named national sales director and Kenneth Cook has accepted the role of regional sales manager, Southeast.

Auringer will oversee all U.S. regional markets with a team of regional sales managers. A lifetime powersports enthusiast, he has extensive experience in bringing new and revived brands to market. In the past 10 years, he has worked to establish and turn around dealership networks for brands like Sea-Doo, Indian Motorcycles, Roxor, CFMoto and Excelsior-Henderson. In addition, Auringer has recruited and placed top talent in the powersports industry over 17 years with his personal business, Dave Auringer & Associates.

As Volcon’s Southeast regional sales manager, Ken Cook will be responsible for establishing business in some of the most critical powersports territories in the U.S. With a strong history of sales and distribution, Cook brings an array of contacts to Volcon in the Southeast. After many successful years working for Linhai –a manufacturer that makes some of Yamaha’s engines, generators and scooters – Cook went on to head up one of the most successful regions for Mahindra, signing some of the biggest powersports dealers in the South.

“The U.S. powersports dealer base is the backbone of distribution within the space. At Volcon, our aim is to build a sales team our dealers love to work with, not to mention a team with the knowledge and experience to take us to the next level of sales and distribution,” says Davis. “We see the mix of innovative technology, transformative product design, and superior human talent as the recipe for our success. Both Dave and Ken are an outstanding addition to our team, and we’re excited to have them both on board.”

Finally, Volcon has announced that it has signed eight more leading powersports dealerships, bringing its total to 18 in less than two weeks of launching their dealership network program. The company reports that it is continuing to vet a lengthy list of applications before the end of the year, and that existing powersports dealerships wishing to carry Volcon vehicles can complete a dealer application here: https://www.volcon.com/volcon-dealer-application.
