Service department revenue trends in May at tractor dealerships revealed

Exclusive data for OPE Business readers from Constellation Data Solutions, a division of Constellation Dealership Group, shows Same Store Sales results at U.S. tractor dealerships for the month of May.

The composite data is pulled from dealerships that use Constellation’s Ideal and c-Systems DMS products. The Same Store Sales data compares May 2020 vs. May 2019 at 460 independent servicing tractor dealerships.

In the U.S., revenue in the service department at Constellation DMS dealerships experienced an average decline of 20 percent during May.

Dealers in the South region experienced a 33 percent revenue decrease in May vs. May 2019, while the Northeast had a 16 percent dip. Dealers in the West (2 percent decrease) and Midwest (1 percent decrease) saw drops in service revenue to a lesser extent.

Service department revenue performance on average by region during May 2020 is as follows:

West: -2%

Midwest: -1%

Northeast: -16%

South: -33%

USA: -20%

West: 82 percent down; 18 percent up

Midwest: 77 percent down; 23 percent up

Northeast: 72 percent down; 28 percent up

South: 70 percent down; 30 percent up

USA: 74 percent down; 26 percent up
