Tarnished Truth Distilling Company, the Virginia-based distillery, will release its first small-batch bourbons to market on October 1.
These include Tarnished Truth 3 Year High Rye and Tarnished Truth 9 Year Single Barrel Bourbon. Both are available for purchase on location and outside the distillery at over 240 ABC retail outlets across Virginia.
Tarnished Truth High Rye is a straight bourbon whiskey aged three years, with aromas of butterscotch, maple syrup, and cinnamon, the company says, plus flavors of toasted oak, honey vanilla, spices and clove. The Tarnished 9 Year Single Barrel Bourbon features aromas of sweet baked apple with buttery toffee and a hint of black pepper and cinnamon to taste.
Tarnished Truth Distillery is located inside the historic Cavalier Hotel and is adjacent to the hotel’s speakeasy, the Hunt Room. It is the first and only distillery located and operating inside a U.S. hotel, the company says.
