Dealerships report October 2022 business performance
Better than 1 out of 3 independent servicing OPE dealership owners described their October 2022 business performance as “On plan,” according to the latest exclusive data from OPE Business magazine.
The latest 1-question survey to dealership owners asked: “How would you characterize your dealership’s September business performance relative to plan? If you have multiple locations, please provide your overall assessment of September.”
A total of 10% said they were “Above plan” in October, down from 13% who replied the same way about their September business performance. A total of 35% were “On plan” in October, up from 29% who responded the same way in September. Finally, a total of 55% of dealership owners said they were “Below plan” for October, better than the 58% who responded the same way in September.
“There was a nice single-digit percentage step forward in terms of dealerships that were ‘on plan’ for the month,” said Dave McMahon, content director at OPE Business. “Going from 29% of dealership owners saying they were ‘On plan’ in September to 35% in October is a strong sign for the start of the quarter.”
The sampling each month is from select dealerships in the U.S. The dealership owners who take the survey vary from month to month. Thanks to the dealers who spent the 5-10 seconds to complete the one-question survey.
