Husqvarna and Teufelberger Collaborate on Purpose-Built Arborist Gear
Husqvarna is partnering with climbing-gear expert Teufelberger to launch new climbing gear in North America during the first half of 2023.
The collaboration, notes Husqvarna, marks an important step in its ambition to offer a broader selection of solutions for arborists and treecare workers: “Husqvarna has identified a need amongst arborists and tree care workers for products and tools that are designed for their specific professional needs including comfort, efficiency and safety,” says the company in a press release. “The collaboration with Teufelberger is a first step in Husqvarna´s ambition to complement its top-of-the-line chainsaw offering with high-quality products that are specifically made for working at height.”
Headquartered in Wels, Austria, Teufelberger is a seventh-generation family-operated company with around 1,500 employees worldwide. The company’s product portfolio includes steel ropes for ropeways, cranes and rope construction, synthetic fiber ropes, for sailing, recreational climbing, personal fall protection, tree care and industrial applications, as well as plastic strapping for transport security. In 2007, the company purchased New England Ropes, a manufacturer of fiber ropes in Fall River, Massachusetts.
“When we decided to create our own climbing gear, we asked arborists and tree workers about the best and most reputable producers in that market. We understood that Teufelberger was a great match for us in terms of high quality combined with opportunities for innovation,” says Johan Hallendorf, director global portfolio arborist solutions at Husqvarna. “Together with our chainsaws we want to offer arborists and tree workers the best equipment solutions for their most frequent needs.”
