March service revenue gets big boost at OPE dealerships, data shows

Exclusive data for Outdoor Power Equipment magazine readers from Constellation Data Solutions, a division of Constellation Dealership Group, shows Same Store Sales results at outdoor power equipment dealerships for the month of March. The composite data is pulled from dealerships that use Constellation’s Ideal and c-Systems DMS brands.

Despite the coronavirus pandemic, overall U.S. March sales of wholegoods, parts and service declined by only 2 percent on average vs. March 2019.

The service department was the big winner among three business segments, showing average revenue growth of 18 percent in March vs. March 2019 at OPE dealerships.

Parts also ended up on the positive side of the ledger on average, with 1 percent growth at OPE dealerships.

Wholegoods sales revenue decreased 4 percent on average in March vs. March 2019.

Canada proved to see dramatically different results, with the overall Canadian dealership’s revenue decreasing by 20 percent on average in March vs. March 2019. Wholegood sales were off by 22 percent, parts sales were down 18 percent and service decreased 3 percent.
